The chosen audio clip was cut from the TV show: Mr. Robot Season 2 Episode 10. The clip features character Philip Price, CEO of E Corp, speaking of power and what it is that drives him. He is accompanied by Terry Colby, CTO of the same company, who initiates the piece.
What drew me to this piece other than my enjoyment of the show was the visual use of language throughout, which lent itself well to the infographic format. I was also intrigued by the slow pacing which added the challenge of using the visuals and transitions to not only illustrate the piece but to ensure that any "gaps" in the audio were filled.
The overall style and visuals were chosen to bring context to a piece of audio that was effectively taken out of context. This meant bringing back the corporate atmosphere, by opening with the companies logo, making visual reference to the office environment, showing line graphs and cityscapes etc. The blue and flat white visuals further inform this idea.
